Thanks to everyone who has sent images of AED’s out in the world – we have received snaps from Hawaii, to Italy and beyond. Let’s keep them coming! Studies show that 70% of cardiac arrests happen at home and of those, only about 40% receive the immediate help they need before professional care arrives. We urge you to do brush up on your CPR and AED training and ensure that everyone in your family is as well. You can find more resources here.
The Lake Tapps Lacrosse Club began selling Shine for Isla lanyards to benefit the foundation! We feel so fortunate that Isla was able to enjoy some lacrosse practices with LTLC before the season was canceled due to covid. The LTLC will recognize players this season that display happiness and joy while playing! Isla's message will also be shared with opponents on the field. A big thank you to LTLC for including us and continuing to spread sunshine!
As you may recall, our annual project in honor of Isla’s 12th Birthday was Art for Isla. We believe in the value and healing capabilities of art and the opportunity for kids to be creative. Isla was fiercely creative and loved art of all kinds - drawing, painting, music, storytelling, dance - you name it!
Art for Isla kicked off at Dieringer Heights this Spring. A fourth grade and kindergarten class made art projects to be gifted to uplift others. Currently the fourth grade class artwork is on display at the Bonney Lake Library. The kindergarten class will have their artwork displayed in the cardiology clinic at Seattle Children's Hospital. Both of these places hold special meaning to us as Isla frequented them both.
We can all agree here - amazing artistry by all participants! Absolutely beautiful pieces of work below!

In honor of Isla's 11th birthday on July 30th, we have proclaimed the day as SHINE FOR ISLA - BE THE SUNSHINE DAY. Our goal is to flood our communities near and far with joy as Isla would have wanted. You can participate from anywhere in the world by doing an act of kindness in her honor.
YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN TWO WAYS:
1) FOR THOSE LOCAL: We'll be doing a drive-thru event with Isla's school. The drive-thru celebration (think balloons, tents, gifts, treats, etc. MAGIC!) will take place from 4-6 PM at Dieringer Heights Elementary in Lake Tapps. We will be giving out "Be the Sunshine" kits for all attendees to participate in our mission.
This is not a ticketed event - but we are requesting everyone register with the total amount of guests that will be in your vehicle so that we can plan accordingly.
